If water loses its incisiveness, how shall it become water again?
If a tree leaves the soil, where shall it go to take root?
No matter how mightily stone may strike upon metal,
Humans cannot survive without water or soil.

Copied from "Echoes Hallowed and Humble," Movement 9, Stanza 37.

Unlike the barbarians or the witless creatures of the waters,
All our strength comes from our will.
Our will is that which we share with the noblest gods,
Just as flesh is what we have in common with the barbarous beasts.
Those who can truly use this wisdom,
May be able to forsake the bonds of flesh,
And when they use their will to command, the rest shall bow down and listen.

Copied from "Echoes Hallowed and Humble," Movement 5, Stanza 3.

Not only do we share the same resilient skin,
But the same divine essence flows within our veins.
As there is one wisdom, one melody,
So too are our wills one.
Comrades,
We are the hands and legs, the shield and sword,
Roots and leaves, spring and stream.
We should draw near to each other,
Even unto outlanders must this be so.

Copied from the "Song of Serenity," Movement 2, Stanza 84.

O Remus, player of the grand symphony, king of all the world.
Your music is heard across the heavens! It resounds throughout the earth.
When Sybilla's Golden Bee gives you a warning,
O Merciful One, grant us eternal life.
Proclaim this sacred moment,
That it should be praised for all eternity.

Copied from "The Third Hymn," Movement 5, Stanza 1.
